KUCHING: PKR Sarawak yesterday launched its ‘All for Sarawak’ election campaign logo that comes with the slogan ‘A strong economy, a just society’.

Apart from that, the party also launched the first of a four-part ‘All for Sarawak’ campaign video and flagged off a convoy with PKR’s potential candidates for the state polls taking part. The move was to reaffirm the party’s preparedness for the 11th state election.

The convoy were for state seats such as Machan, Ngemah Nangka, Marudi, Telang Usan, Batu Kitang, Belaga, Murum, Senadin, Kakus, Kalaka, Meluan, Jepak, Lingga, Bukit Begunan, Layar, Saribas and Batang Ai.

The event was officiated at by PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

Among those present were the party’s deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali, vice president Nurul Izzah Anwar and PKR Sarawak chairman Baru Bian.

Baru said the focus of the election campaign would be on areas such as wealth distribution and education. That would be highlighted in the ‘20-point Roadmap for a New Sarawak’ to be launched in a week or two.

“We will talk about areas such as wealth and education. I think all of us know that wealth in the state is unequally distributed. We believe there should be equal distribution of wealth for Sarawak.

“The roadmap will cover 20 areas, and it will come with examples. We have the sub-headings later on in the roadmap,” he told a press conference after the launching at a local hotel here yesterday.

Baru, who is also Ba Kelalan assemblyman, said the party decided not to launch the roadmap as planned yesterday because it wanted to focus on the presidential address and launching of the election campaign logo.

“The 20-point roadmap will purely be on Sarawak issues. We are very grateful that the president (Wan Azizah) and deputy president (Azmin) have told us that this is purely Sarawak matters. They have left it to us to launch it later on.”

Meanwhile, Nurul Izzah said it was very inspiring for the party’s top brass to be here yesterday to witness all the efforts done by the local leaders for the past two years.

“It has been really impressive. If you look at the campaign itself, for sure the work has been there for many months.

“We want to present it to the other leaders, including those from Peninsular Malaysia, to learn from.”

She said the hard work of the party’s local leaders, especially the 15 mini hydro-eletric projects was just the beginning.

She assured Sarawakians there would be more of such projects to help improve the livelihood of Sarawakians.

“We would like to share this effort not just for the election but to realise change that can be done with the right leadership with zero tolerance to corruption.”
