KOTA KINABALU: The Magistrates Court here yesterday fined a local man RM25, in default 14 days’ jail for threatening a girl.
Hassan Salipara, 50, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Stephanie Sherron Abbey for threatening a 24-year-old local girl at the One Mim Sdn Bhd factory in Sepanggar near here on June 17 this year at about 11am.
He was charged under Section 8 (1) of the Minor Offences Ordinance chapter 80.
The offence carries a fine of more than RM25.
The facts of the case stated that Hassan had verbally threatened to use a knife to tear the victim’s mouth.
The victim felt scared and immediately lodged a police report on the same day, leading to Hassan’s arrest later the same day.
The unrepresented Hassan prayed for leniency by telling the court his health is in bad condition.
Chief Inspector Lim Swee Beng prosecuted the case.
