LABUAN:  PETRONAS yesterday launched its First Aider in Every Home Program (FAiEH) in Labuan to provide first aid skills and establish a safety-conscious culture among members of the community surrounding the PETRONAS’ key projects and operations.

The corporate social responsibility (CSR) program in collaboration with the Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) was held at Kg Sg Miri with more than 20 villagers involved in the half-day event.

PETRONAS Head of Sabah and Labuan Regional Office Julita Ontol said the program which began in 2012 has benefited households in Pengerang Johore Baharu, Long Bedian and Long Luping in Sarawak.

She said the program also has reached households in Beaufort, Sipitang, and Kampung Imbak, Tongod in Sabah.

“Kg Sg Miri was chosen to be the first village for the program before it expanded to other villages. We want to have close rapport with the community here,” she said.

She hoped the villagers involved would become the agent of information for the program.

“We hope through our program, people will be more knowledgeable on safety, health and environment,” she said.
