BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan dan Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, yesterday consented to receive in audience The Honourable Mrs. Carrie Lam, the Chief Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, of the People’s Republic of China, ©BRUDIRECT.COM reported.
The purpose of The Honourable Carrie Lam’s visit to the Sultanate, among other things, is to strengthen trade and investment ties between both sides, and to express Hong Kong’s appreciation for Brunei Darussalam’s support in the ASEAN-Hong Kong Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations.
Accompanying the Honourable during the audience were Mr Fong Ngai, the Director at the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Singapore and other senior officials from the Chief Secretary for Administration of Hong Kong’s Office and the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Singapore’s Office.
Present during the audience ceremony was Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Dewa Dato Seri Setia Lim Jock Seng, the Second Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The audience ceremony took place at the Istana Nurul Iman.
