Swearing-in of new ministers today

KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister designate Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is expected to lead the swearing-in ceremony at Balairong Seri, Istana Negara, today.

Scheduled to be held at 10am, Ahmad Zahid will be sworn in before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah.

The ceremony is expected to begin with official appointment letters as the Deputy Prime Minister and the Home Minister.

Seven new ministers and nine deputy ministers were appointed during the July 28 cabinet reshuffle.

All ministers and deputy ministers will take their oaths before signing the official document of their appointments witnessed by Chief Justice Tun Arifin Zakaria and Chief Secretary to the Government Datuk Seri Dr Ali Hamsa.

Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Mohd Salleh Tun Said Keruak was today sworn in as a Senator. -Agencies
