MIRI: A Toyota Hilux belonging to a 39-year-old engineer was stolen in broad daylight at a petrol station in Luak at about 5pm on Monday.

The theft occurred when the victim went to the petrol station to fill up his tank.

The victim was at the counter to pay for the fuel when a man came out from the front passenger seat of a car parked next to the Toyota Hilux, and proceeded to enter it.

The suspect drove away with the 4-wheel-drive in seconds.

Miri Acting police chief, Supt Stanley Jonathan Ringgit when contacted yesterday confirmed the case and police are investigating.

He said police believed more than one suspect was involved in the incident.
