SMK Song and Medic players celebrating after the prize giving ceremony
KAPIT: SMK Song narrowly defeated Medical FC 2-1 in the final to win the Saberkas Katibas Football Championship held at the Sports Stadium in Song district recently.
SMK Katibas and Song Education Office were joint third.
SMK Song’s Antai Boing also walked away with the Golden Boot as the Best Player.
The three-day 9-a-side tournament, organised by Saberkas Katibas, attracted eight teams from the public and the private sectors in Song district – Embuau United, Federal FC, State FC, SMK Song, SMK Katibas, Song Education Office, Medical FC and CVS FC.
Saberkas Katibas chairman Hamzah Bohari said the event was held to foster closer rapport between his members and the various government agencies and non-governmental organisations in the district.
Song District Officer Jackline August launched the tournament while the closing ceremony was officiated by Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Katibas youth chief Hendry Salang on behalf of state assemblyman for N55 Katibas Datuk Ambrose Blikau Enturan.
Among present at the prize-giving ceremony were Hamzah, Rela Officer Song Kamil, Jasa Officer Jimmy Ribut and organising committee member Mohd Fairuz.
