KUCHING: Sarawak’s new soccer coach Fuad Grbsic is confident his team can collect points at Stadium Negeri here tomorrow against a formidable foe Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) in the Super League competition.

In addition, Sarawak will be going down to the field without their three main pillars, namely import striker Ryan Griffiths, who was suspended a match after collecting three yellow cards, and Ashri Chchu and G. Mahathevan who are injured.

“We are aware our opponents are a strong team with players of star-status, but I believe we can overcome the situation,” said Fuad.

Fuad, who took over from Robert Alberts whose contract has ended, also admitted a big challenge awaited him and his players.

“I fervently hope the players who will be fielded on Saturday (tomorrow) can give their best for a much needed win by the Sarawak team,” he added.

He, nonetheless, could heave a sigh of relief as experienced defender Ramesh Laiban Huat has been confirmed to have fully recovered from an injured big toe and can play tomorrow. — Bernama
