KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s focus is now on its diving queen Pandelela Rinong to deliver at the 16th FINA World Championships which is being held at the Aquatics Palace in Kazan, Russia.

Pandelela, who had sent the cheers up when she secured a spot in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics in Brazil on Wednesday, will compete in her favourite event — the women’s 10m individual platform finals alongside fellow teammate, Nur Dhabitah Sabri at 7.30pm (local time) on Thursday (midnight Friday Malaysian time).

Overall, Malaysia’s diving squad are not doing very well.

In the men’s 3m individual springboard event Thursday, Malaysia’s duo of Ooi Tze Liang and Ahmad Amsyar Azman failed to make the cut to the finals after finishing in 24th and 27th place with 401.25 and 391.35 points, respectively.
