KUALA LUMPUR: The retail price of RON95 and RON97 petrol, as well as diesel, is down by 10 sen per litre this month.
The new price after Goods and Services Tax (GST) for RON95 is RM2.05 per litre, while the price for RON97 is RM2.45 per litre and the price for diesel is RM1.95 per litre.
“The price will be effective from 12.01 am, Aug 1 (2015),” Malaysian Petrol Dealers Association deputy president Datuk Zulkifli Mokti said, when contacted by Bernama.
The announcement refuted irresponsible rumours on social media by certain parties that alleged the government would be increasing the price of the three types of fuel by as much as 35 sen per litre.
It quoted the secretary-general of the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism as the source of information. — Bernama
