BESUT: Gerakan Harapan Baru (GHB) chairman Mohamad Sabu has ignored PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang’s warning and reminder that disciplinary action would be taken against all party leaders and members who participated in the GHB nationwide tour.

In fact, the former PAS deputy president said he was confident that Abdul Hadi’s warning would not affect the GHB’s efforts to gain support from the people across the country, including from among members and leaders of PAS.

“About the president’s opinion, it is better if you ask him. We are not bound by that opinion because we are bound by the decision we have made to support the suggestion from Bersih (organisation).

“Right now, we are on the right track,” he told reporters after attending the GHB tour in Dataran PGU here, which was attended by 200 people, late Friday night.

Among those present were Kuala Krai MP Dr Mohd Hatta Ramli, who is also former Central PAS committee member, former PAS vice-president Ahmad Awang   and former PAS president Datuk Fadzil Noor’s son, Muhammad Faiz.

Meanwhile, Mohamad Sabu, when asked when he would tender his official resignation letter to PAS, said he and several ousted PAS leaders who formed the GHB would only do so when the new political party was officially registered. – Bernama
