KUCHING: A 36-year-old woman easing herself in a bush on Friday night ended up being assaulted by three foreign men.

The woman from Kampung Jemukan in Asajaya, who got bruised in the assault, said it occurred around 8pm not far from her village when her 20-year-old nephew stopped his motorcycle by the roadside for her to urinate.

She walked to a nearby bush and was easing herself when three men speaking in a foreign accent emerged from behind that bush.

One of them hit her with a large stick while another charged towards her nephew with a machete, prompting him to speed off from the scene in fear.

Fortunately for the woman, several foreign men in another group came to her aid after hearing the commotion, causing the three men to flee on foot moments later.

Police personnel arrived after being contacted by the group and brought the bruised woman to the police station where she lodged a report, before sending her to Sarawak General Hospital for a checkup.
