MIRI: The 12th edition Dynasty Hotel Charity Run was a huge success with some 2,150 participants from all walks of life out in full force for the noble cause on a beautiful Sunday morning.

Managing director of Dynasty Hotel Tony Pui in his speech expressed his gratitude for the support shown by the public for over a decade.

“This charity run was a success because of everyone who was here, being caring and thoughtful citizens of Miri, and we can proudly acknowledge all of you as caring and responsible members of Miri community,” he said.

Sharing the primary objective which is to collect funds for charity and for distribution among the poor here, Pui who started the charitable run in 2004, said part proceedings are donated to the four charitable homes, namely Pibakis Piasau Miri, PDK Morsjaya, Society for the Blind Centre and MRC

Miri Chapter Kidney Dialysis Centre, with each receiving RM5,000.

“This year indeed, this was an unprecedented event for us where the number of runners has exceeded 2,000 and because of this large number of participants, we had enlisted the precious assistance and expertise from Bulatan Park Runners Club, Fire and Rescue, Miri traffic police and Miri Share Tea, in making the event a huge success,” he said.

state assemblyman Datuk Lee kim Shin, Sibuti MP Ahmad Lai Bujang and Telang Usan state assemblyman Dennis Ngau for their generosity in contributing RM10, 000 each towards the charity event.

Pui went on to present the top collector award to Eric Khoo, Pui Chaw Zee and Hong Ai Lian, all of whom had tipped more than RM1,000 for the event.

Khoo, who raised more than RM10, 000, won himself a return trip to Kuala Lumpur. It was his 12th year in taking the top spot in collector award.
