MIRI: Immaculate Lojuki, 22, was adjudged the fairest of them all at the grand finale of the Miss Global International Malaysia (MGIM) 2015/2016 at Eastwood Valley Golf and Country Club here on Saturday.
She thumped 15 hopefuls for the title and was crowned by Miss Global International Malaysia (MGIM) 2014 Rubini Sambanthan.
She will be representing Malaysia at the Miss International pageant, which will be held in Japan in November this year.
It was a memorable outing for this damsel from Penampang, Sabah, as she had also won two subsidiary titles: Best National Costume and Miss Body Beautiful.
On Saturday night, she not only scored points for her deportment and confidence, but her intelligence also showed during the question-and-answer session.
Asked about the biggest social problem faced by teenagers today, the Foundation in Business student answered that social media was a big distraction for the youths of today.
“Facebook, Instagram, blogs, and others are easily accessible via smart phones. Unfortunately, exposure to social media is slowly turning teenagers to be anti social, and this can snowball into a serious problem in future,” she opined.
Second place went to Tanisha Kaur while Livonia Ricky came in third.
Tanisha, who had also won two subsidiary titles – Miss Beautiful Skin and Miss Celebrity, will be representing Malaysia at the Miss Supranational pageant, which will be held in Poland in December this year.
Livonia also had the subsidiary title Miss JD Personality to her name.
Other subsidiary titles winners are: Miss Eastwood Popularity (Phrisillia Mujan Peter), Miss Facebook Popularity (Harvinder Kaur Gill), Best Evening Gown (Cynthia Kong), Miss Malaysia Beauty Pageants Fans Club (Conney Jekaria) and both Miss Photogenic and Miss Talent (Sharellyn Suneeta).
Personalities present at the grand finale included Pawee Ventura, the co-owner of Missosology.org, Malaysian artiste Chris Tong, aesthetician and director of DaVinci Clinic, Dr. Tristan Ming, entrepreneur Jackson Goh, Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago, Mayor Lawrence Lai, and Woodman managing director Dato Sri Law Kiu Kiong.
