The suspect at Miri central police station (CPS) yesterday.
MIRI: A man in his 30s was caught red-handed while trying to steal mangoes from a house in Piasau at about 10am yesterday but the culprit is in dire straits for another misdemeanor.
The suspect was caught by the owner who later contacted the Mobile Patrol Vehicle (MPV) unit to haul the suspect to the police station.
Police also seized several pieces of scrap metal from the suspect when they stumbled on the find.
It was learnt that the suspect had a criminal record and was also a drug addict.
Police are investigating.
