Parents of toddler appeal for donations for surgery

KUCHING: Parents of seven-month-old Clairesya Denis is appealing for financial assistance from the public to undergo surgery in Kuala Lumpur.

The baby girl suffers from rectal disorder, which means that she is unable to defecate through her rectum.

Her mother said she stopped passing motion when she was a month old. She was initially sent to Sri Aman Hospital, but was allegedly diagnosed with the disorder too late.

State DAP vice chairman Leon Jimat Donald learned of this recently when both mother and daughter visited him in Sri Aman.

“This is the reason why we from DAP are constantly and consistently asking for the progress of the supposed construction of the Sri Aman Hospital,” Leon said.

“The elected representatives of Sri Aman preferred to remain numb and dumb to the progress of the hospital when asked.

“Nothing has been done until now, and for how long are the people of Sri Aman Division, especially this innocent baby, going to continue to suffer? Now she has to go to KL for surgery due to Sri Aman’s doctors’ inability to cope with complicated medical issues,” Leon lamented.
