MIRI: The durian season is back again, and this means good tidings for durian sellers and growers, including those in Ulu Baram and Niah.

According to a durian farm owner from Baram, Anyi Ngau, only six of his durian trees were currently bearing fruits.

“I have ever ready buyers, and when I bring my durians down to Miri city, it will most certainly sell like hotcakes,” he said in an interview. Besides the normal species, he said he also had ‘durian tembaga’, which are highly sought after.

“Durian price is now good, ranging from RM20 to RM40, depending on size and type,” said Anyi, who noted that most durian trees in Baram were bearing fruits now. Meanwhile, durian sellers were found in various parts of the city yesterday, including in Tudan, along the Kuala Baram-Miri Road.
