SANDAKAN: Umno members should not question the recent cabinet reshuffle carried out by the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, but to focus on efforts to strengthen the party, said Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Bung Moktar Radin.
He said Umno members should think of a more proactive way to mobilise the party so that it would remain strong.
“Whatever happens, there is a blessing (behind it) and Umno has gone through such a crisis several times, but we continue to succeed in pursing the party’s struggle because of the high confidence in Umno struggle,” he told reporters after opening the Kinabatangan Umno delegates meeting here on Sunday.
Bung Moktar, who is Kinabatangan Umno division leader, said Umno members should continue to pursue the party’s struggle even though the leaders kept changing.
“Party members should work hard to mobilise and strengthen the party to restore the people’s confidence in the party leadership,” he added.
He said it was also important to strengthen Umno machinery in preparation for the coming 14th general election. — Bernama
