BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: The Banjarmasin Agriculture and Fisheries Agency (Distankan) targeting one million lobster aquaculture to 2016, Antaranews reported.

The plan has received appreciation from Mayor H Muhidin when grilling lobsters in one million lobster aquaculture launching towards Rp1 billion local revenue (PAD) in Green House Complex at Jalan Pangeran Hidayatullah Banjarmasin on Monday.

Muhidin accompanied by his wife Hj Fathul Jannah and officials from Working Units (SKPD) took part in the harvest of lobsters that have been successfully cultivated by the agency in some ponds for 6 months with the number of a thousand lobsters.

According to mayor, lobster farming in cooperation with local farmers is good for economic growth in the region, especially with the mission of improving the PAD.

By seeing himself how serious the Distankan carrying out lobster farming program, he believes in the future of this fishery farm would greatly contributed to the revenue for the municipality.

“In addition to PAD, of course, the welfare of our society in this lobster farm must balance improved,” he hoped.

Head of Agriculture and Fisheries Agency Doyo Pudjadi said it plans to propose a budget of Rp1 billion for the manufacture of lobster breeding ponds in the area of ​​Green House in 2016.
