KUCHING: Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB)is holding back the processes associated with the Baram and Baleh projects until a final decision is made by the state government.

This decision was made in response to the recent statement made by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem on the construction of the dams at the launch of the Long Lama bridge project.

In a statement yesterday SEB clarified that The Starbiz report dated August 3 entitled ‘Strong energy demand from Sarawak – SEB may build Baleh and Baram dams simultaneously’ contained outdated information.

The statement added that SEB as a wholly owned government corporation on its part will abide by the government’s decision and hoped all parties will also respect its stand on the matter.
