JDT is tops after Pahang stumbles

KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) took over at the top after beating Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) 1-0 in a match played at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi, Negeri Sembilan tonight.

Safee Sali’s goal in the 72nd minute was enough for JDT to dislodge Pahang who suffered a shock 2-4 loss to Lions XII in a match at Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore.

Lions XII led Pahang 2-0 with goals from Faris Ramli and Madhu Mohana in the 17th and 30th minute.

Pahang’s prolific striker Matias Conti reduced the deficit to 2-1 when he scored in the 43rd minute.

Faris again found the net in the 60th minute, followed by Safuwan Baharudin with the fourth goal in the 85th minute.

Pahang fought back and were rewarded when R. Surendran scored the second goal in additional time to make the score 4-2 in favour of Lions XII.

Terengganu beat Kelantan 2-1 in another match played at Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium in Kota Baharu.

Ahmad Fakri Saarani put Kelantan ahead by scoring after only 17 seconds, the fastest goal yet.

Terengganu hit back when Vincent Bikana equalised in the 25th minute. Ashari Samsudin scored in the 73rd minute to push Terengganu up to fifth spot with 29 points.

In Kuching, Police beat Sarawak 3-2 in a thrilling match played at State Stadium last night.

Ahmad Ezrie Shafizi Sazali put Police ahead in the 20th minute. Joseph Kalang Tie equalised in the 49th minute before Ryan Griffiths scored Sarawak’s second goal in the 78th minute.

Police were not discouraged and were rewarded when Dramane Traore made the score 2-2 in the 85th minute.

Sarawak were denied a share of the points after Mohd Afif Amirudin scored for Police in the 89th minute to make it 3-2.

Selangor beat Sime Darby 3-1 in another match at Selayang Municipal Council Stadium to move to third spot with 29 points.

Selangor scored via Rizal Fahmi Abdul Rosid (19th min), Guilherme De Paula (26th min) and Mohd Amri Yahya (81st min).

Sime Darby’s goal was scored by Reinaldo Da Costa (31st min).

Perak failed to make home ground count after losing 0-2 to Felda United in a match at Ipoh Stadium.

The loss sent Perak down to eighth spot in the table with 27 points.

Shukor Adan and Mohd Raffi Nagoorgani were the heroes with goals in the 60th and 69th minutes to give Felda all three points. — Bernama
