Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge + earlier today at the Samsung’s unpacked event.
At first sight, it is undeniable that both of these two latest Samsung flagship devices gave a first impression of an enlarged Galaxy S6 by adopting the same design language as the latter.
Samsung Galaxy Note 5
The Galaxy Note 5 sports a 5.7 inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display protected by Gorilla Glass 4 with a very slim bezel from its side which presents a very gorgeous looking screen when the screen is not turned on. It uses an Exynos 7420 Octa Core processor which is mated with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of non-expandable storage.
Its S-Pen has also been redesigned and now this dedicated Note 5 stylus is clickable when you need to take it out from the sheath.
On its camera, the Note 5 is equipped with a 16MP OIS rear camera a f/1.9 aperture and real-time HDR. Its front-facing camera is a 5MP unit with f/1.9 aperture.
Samsung added Ultra High Quality Audio to enhance its audio system. There’s also other useful features such as NFC, MST and updated fingerprint sensor to secure transactions etc seen on the Note 5.
The device is running Android 5.1 Lollipop with TouchWiz UI on top. It is powered by a 3,000 mAh size battery that supports Quick Charge for wired and wireless charging. This handset also has 4G LTE connectivity on the go.
Samsung Galaxy S6 edge +
The Galaxy S6 edge + was another highlight of the unpacked event today. Based on its model name, it is easily identify that this device is the enhanced version of the Galaxy S6 edge.
Other than the above mentioned difference, it also increased its RAM from 3GB to 4GB and prolonged its battery endurance from 2,600 mAh to 3,000 mAh.
The S6 edge + carries a 5.7 inch Quad HD Super AMOLED dual curve display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. This handset also uses an Exynos 7420 Octa Core processor that paired with either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage with no microSD card expansion available too.
It adopts a 16MP rear shooter with optical image stabilization and f/1.9 aperture. And there’s a 5MP front-facing camera with f/1.9 aperture.
The device also comes with fingerprint sensor on the Home button. It will also be featuring NFC and MST as seen on the Note 5.
It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop skinned with the latest TouchWiz UI which makes no difference from the Note 5. It also supports the latest KNOX version. Its 3,000 mAh capacity battery also supports wired and wireless fast charging.
Both these devices are available in Black Sapphire, White Pearl, Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium color choices and we believed it will be released in Malaysia by later this month as the Note 5 and S6 edge + had already been certified by SIRIM Malaysia earlier.
