254 Amuntai prisoners got remission

AMUNTAI, South Kalimantan: A total of 254 inmates of Amuntai Prison in North Hulu Sungai got remission in commemoration of 70th Independence Day, Antaranews reported.
Remission handed in by Vice Regent of North Hulu Sungai (HSU) Husairi Abdi in the prison after attending Proclamation of Independence at Pahlawan Field, Amuntai.

Amuntai Prison head HM Arsyad said 254 inmates who received remission consisted of 129 inmates got a general remission in Independence Day and 125 inmates received a decade remission.

“A total of 10 inmates got free remission after receiving a general remission and a decade remission,” he said.

Arsyad said the remission is in corresponding with Decree of the Minister of Law and Human Rights No.W.19.375.PK.01.01.02 year 2015 on the Granting of Public Remission August 17th and the Decade Remission in 2015.

“The provision of a general remission ranges from one to six months of detention,” said Arsyad.

Arsyad explained decade remission is a type of remission given every 10 years. Inmates receive one-twelfth reduction from detention period.
