BANGKOK: The bodies of the four Malaysians killed in the Bangkok bomb blast late Monday evening will be flown back to their hometown in Penang tonight.

They will be accompanied by family members and flown on Thai Airways’ flight TG425 at 7.45pm from Suvarnabhumi Airport, said a Malaysian embassy official.

They were all from one family, travelling on holiday in Bangkok in a group of seven.

They are Lim Su Gaik, 49, Lee Chee Siang, 35, Lee Jing Sian, 4, and Neoh Kah Chun, 20.

They were among 20 people killed and 123 injured in Monday’s evening bomb blast at Ratchaprasong intersection, one of the worse violence in Bangkok in years.

The Erawan Emergency Services, which tallies figures from hospital around Bangkok, said out of the 123 injured, 68 are still receiving treatment in hospitals across Bangkok.

The number of injured have been brought down to 123 from 125 previously as there have been duplication of names before.

Meanwhile, one of the Malaysians injured in the bombing, Tan Rui Hun, a 29-year-old Malaysian businessman from Kelantan, is expected to be discharged tomorrow.

His wife, Teo Khaei Ling, 27, told Bernama they would go back tomorrow after Tan is discharged.

Teo was happy with the assistance provided by the Malaysian embassy here, which had been assisting with the hotel accommodation and booking the plane tickets.

Tan came to Bangkok together with his wife and mother-in-law for a four-day holiday. His mother-in-law Tan Kim Siok received minor injury on the forehead in the incident.

They were supposed to return home yesterday.

Meanwhile, Thai police are still looking for a yellow-shirt suspect captured on CCTV leaving a backpack at the scene before the bomb blast. – BERNAMA
