KAPIT: The Kapit Basketball Closed 2015 met with an overwhelming response when 16 teams comprising of seventy-

four players and officials in the competition currently held at Bletih Stadium here. Former Pelagus assemblyman Larry Shien Wei Shien, who is president of Sarawak Workers Party, officiated at the opening ceremony where he handed over the basketball to deputy chairman Lionel Philip of the Seven Division Sports Club who are the organisers. Among the witnesses were the SDSC organising committee led by Jason Yeo aside from club chairman Sng Chee Khiun, secretary Mohamad Azeedy and committee members. Larry, who chipped in RM 2,500 for the competition expenses, lauded the Seven Division Sports Club for being pro-active to organise sporting activities for youths. He observed that the youths here are active and energetic because whenever there is a sport competition, it attracts an overwhelming response.
