KOTA KINABALU: Pro-Barisan Nasional (Pro-BN) will organise a peaceful gathering in response to Bersih 4.0 rallies that are set to be held nationwide on Aug 29 and Aug 30.

Chairman and Sabah president of the non-governmental organisation, Zulkarnain Mahdar, said unlike the Bersih 4.0 rallies, which call for free, clean and fair election as well as to seek the resignation of Prime Minister Datuk Sri Najib Tun Razak, the peaceful gathering of Pro-BN is to show the organisation’s full support to the government.

“The slogan for our peaceful rally is ‘Himpunan Solidariti untuk Mu Malaysia’ or ‘Solidarity for You Malaysia’. The peaceful rally will take place in front of Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur on Aug 29 and August 30 and about five to 10,000 supporters are expected to take part in the gathering,” said Zulkarnain during a telephone interview from Kuala Lumpur. Zulkarnain added that a memorandum would be submitted to the Deputy Prime Minister’s office to pledge their loyalty to the Sultan and country.

“The gathering is also to respond to Bersih 4.0 rallies that purely show their hatred towards the present government. “So it is our duty as patriots to show our love and support to the country and object their (Bersih 4.0) agenda,” he said.
