LAHAD DATU: Umno members were urged not to make the party’s internal crisis as an excuse to bring chaos to the party, but should unite to further strengthen the party.

Silam Umno divisional head Datuk Mohd Yusof Apdal in his speech at the Silam Wanita Umno delegates meeting said each member should show their loyalty to the party and be consistent in their fight for the party.

“Do not be selfish; remember the main goal of our struggle and do not, because we are disappointed with the party’s internal crisis, we divide the party,” he said, adding that this was a test for the party and it could be solved with the unity among its members.

According to Yusof, Umno members should be grateful as the test happened before the 14th general election. He said if this had occurred when facing the election, members would not be able to reflect and resolve any crisis in the party.

He said Umno was fighting for race, religion and country, and if members were more concerned about the differences of opinion and views, it would harm unity and destroy the party.

“We are strong because we are united. Umno and Barisan Nasional rule the country because we tolerate each other and people can live in peace because we maintain our loyalty to the government. Party members should unite under our democratic system which provides a selection of leaders through the proper channels and continue to strengthen the party by maintaining equality in our struggle,” he added.

Also present were State Affairs representative cum Wanita Umno Kalabakan chief Chaya Sulaiman and Silam Wanita Umno chief Mizma Appehdullah.
