SIBU: A wood pellet factory in Mawah Road was damaged in a fire yesterday.

There were no casualties reported during the 2am blaze.

No one was in the factory at the time of the incident.

The person-in-charge of the factory, who declined to be named, said the wood pellets were to be exported to Korea.

He added that at least 300 pellets could have been damaged by water from the firemen’s hoses.

Other factory equipment damaged were a shovel, a forklift, boiler and dryer.

The factory began operation in September last year.
