The Minister of Communications, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Hamzah Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdullah bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar, in an interview during a visit to an accident site in Kampung Lugu, Muara-Tutong Highway expressed his disappointment on the spread of information and photos of accidents in social media.

Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Hamzah Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdullah said that what is issued from the police are reports but from the public most of it are photos showing the victims in unflattering conditions. It is a disappointment as the uploading of such photos to social media is rude and disrespectful as well as not a part of our social culture.

The Minister of Communications urged the public to always maintain the honour and sensitivity of the victims and their families, and not to upload such photos for public viewing on social media. He also advised road users to always enhance their cautiousness while on the roads apart from compromising and being considerate to other users.

Drivers are also advised to always use their indicators when changing lanes as this can ensure that other drivers can avoid moving into the lane that they have indicated. The Minister of Communications urged road users to adhere to the road traffic regulations and procedures when driving.

A considerate driving attitude is hoped to be the norm for all road users especially drivers to avoid unwanted incidents. Also in the delegation was Awang Abdul Mutalib Bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad Yusof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communications.
