LIMBANG: Putera Kuala Lawas (PKL) — the ‘Raja Sungai Brunei 2015 – are all set to lift the “Raja Batang Limbang” title in the Limbang Regatta this weekend in conjunction with state-level National Day celebrations centred here.

PKL contingent chief Awang Damit Ali Hasan said his 130-strong team (in nine boats) had undergone intensive training under team manager Abdul Kadir Bayan at Kuala Lawas since last month, to prepare them for the 36-team field from other parts of northern Borneo, Sarawak and Brunei.

“We want to be different by mixing both old and new team members aged 19 to 52 to search for glory,” he said yesterday, adding that with their slogan ‘Do it together’, victory in the Limbang Regatta 2015 will be a prelude to defend their title as Raja Sungai Brunei in 2016.
