GEORGE TOWN: The Penang MCA has condemned hate-mongers who distributed flyers bearing threats of violence which were reportedly found in Bukit Dumbar and Gelugor here, and at the DAP headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.

Its chairman, Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun wants the police to bring the culprits to book under the Sedition Act for inciting the public to cause physical harm and attempting to turn the Bersih 4.0 rally into a racial conflict.

They should also be investigated under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 and Prevention of Terrorism Act 2015, she said.

“The police must use CCTV (closed-circuit television camera) recordings, DNA samples or any other form of investigation to nail the offenders and printers (of the flyers),” she said in a statement here yesterday. — Bernama
