KUCHING: A promise for a sightseeing tour in the state capital turned out to be an unexpected experience for some of the 50 villagers from Simunjan.

Travelling for 51.4km to Kuching in two buses, not all the villagers knew they that would be participating in the Kuching Bersih 4 rally at the Song Kheng Hai rugby field at 1pm today.

“This is my first time in this area. I have no idea of this place and why we are here,” lamented Saao Nad, a paddy farmer from Kampung Sungai Lingkau, Simunjan to the Borneo Post today.

He also said among them were ladies and children as young as six years old.

The person in charge of their trip, he added, was also nowhere to be found causing some anxiousness for them.

“We do not even know if we will be staying for the night or heading home today,” he added.

Citing his old age and hearing impairment, Saao said it is best for them to just sit put in a group and wait for the person in charge to decide if they will stay or leave.

Meanwhile, the other three villages are Kampung Temiang, Kampung Malanjok and Kampung Segunduk.
