ATM to stage special performance on National Day

KUALA LUMPUR: For the first time, the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) will entertain the public witnessing the 2015 National Day celebration with a field band performance dubbed ‘Rentak Sederap Gabungan ATM’.

ATM Staff Officer 1, Lt Col Md Yusof Sebli said 1,500 personnel comprising the army, air force and navy would be involved in the performance.

“We are given the opportunity to do the opening performance. It will be held specifically for the National Day and incorporates the elements of unity for Malaysians,” he told Bernama here, yesterday.

Md Yusof said all the members involved were undergoing continuous training from Aug 18 to demonstrate their best performance on Aug 31.

He said, overall, 30 army and 30 air force assets and 30 horses belonging to the army would be involved in the National Day celebration.

The preparation for the celebration is being jointly carried out by the Prime Minister’s Department, Kuala Lumpur City Hall, Ministry of Communications and Multimedia and the National Culture and Arts Department.

The event would also be enlivened by more than 10,000 participants from numerous government and private agencies which would be involved in various performances such as the parade, rhythmic marching and anti-terrorist demonstration.

The theme for the National Day celebration this year, ‘Of One Heart, One Soul’ demonstrates the integrity, mutual understanding, solidarity and humanity of all the people in the country. — Bernama
