KUALA LUMPUR: No official reports have been received by the Communications and Multimedia Ministry so far on any attempt to hack the government websites, said its deputy minister Datuk Jailani Johari.

He said at the moment, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) would continue to monitor the situation of any suspicious activity.

“There is no report yet but we (MCMC) are fully prepared if there are any agency or ministry needing our technical assistance to deal with the hacking issues,” he told reporters after officiating the Malaysia IT Fair here, yesterday.

Jailani said the MCMC also urged organisations or ministries to be extra careful and monitor any suspicious activities involving goverment websites around the clock.

He added the MCMC was monitoring all websites which were found to be promoting or encouraging the public to participate in the illegal Bersih 4 rally held from today until tommorrow.

On Friday, the MCMC had blocked access to four websites found to be disseminating information about the rally. — Bernama
