KUCHING: SJK Chung Hua No 5 here, together with the state Information Department, held a programme on Friday in celebration of National Day.

The occasion was filled with fun activities including a traditional costume show, a multi-racial dance performance, a colouring competition and a quiz.

According to headmistress Ho It Ching, her pupils have always been encouraged to express their patriotism and love for the country.

She also represented the school in expressing her appreciation to the Information Department for supporting the event, as well as the presence of several special guests comprising Milton Foo who represented SUPP president Senator Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian, Kuching Chung Hua Primary School No 1-6 Management Committee chairman Wong Tiong Hock and SJK Chung Hua No 5 Board of Management vice chairman Chan Chiaw Yam, as well as local Chinese community leaders Temenggong Lu Kim Yong, Penghulu Tan Heng Jee, Kapitan Liew Chiew Ing and James Ting Ing Seek.
