11 more to give statement on Bersih rally

KOTA KINABALU: Police will be calling 11 more people to have their statements recorded for their involvement in the Bersih 4 Kota Kinabalu (B4KK) rally over the weekend.

Acting city police chief Superintendent Mohd Azhar Hamin said police had identified the 11 individuals and would be calling them to have their statements recorded soon.

“They will be called to have their statements recorded under Section 112 of the Crime Procedure Code,” he said.

So far, 10 people have given their statements to the police on the B4KK rally that was held in Teluk Likas on August 29 and 30.

On Tuesday, Bersih Sabah chairperson Jennie Lasimbang, Marathamuthu A/L Suppannair, Stephen Wong and Henry Shim gave their statements at the Karamunsing police station.

Yesterday, seven other individuals were called by the police to have their statements recorded. They were Kota Kinabalu member of parliament Jimmy Wong, Wong Thien Fatt, Harieyadi Karmin, Mohd Asraf Sharafi Mohd Azhar, Mohd Khairuddin Daud, Beverly Joeman and Andrew Ambrose @ Atama.
