SIBU: A sizeable crowd of mostly diehard fans of rock music converged on Sibu Town Square Phase I on Friday for the ‘Dirgahayu Concert’, and they were not disappointed.
The concert, held in conjunction with the 79th birthday celebration of Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, featured stars like ‘Papa Rock’ Ramli Sarip, rock superstar Fredo Villenguez, and Miss World Malaysia 2008 Soo Wincci.

Ramli, a renowned Singaporean singer, songwriter, arranger and music producer, held the crowd agog with his performance.
Fredo, formerly with the Flybaits, too, set the town on fire with his amazing guitar skills.

Wincci delighted those present by singing several of her favourite numbers.
Wincci is an award-winning singer, actress, composer, chef, host, model, beauty queen, and entrepreneur. In 2013, she was selected by Hollywood’s Independence Critics as among the world’s Top 100 most beautiful women.
The concert was two-hour long, but when it ended, the crowd screamed for more.
