SIBU: Tabuan Jaya Sports School downed Sibu 2-0 in the final to lift the Sarawak Foundation Gold Cup at Tun Zaidi Stadium here on Sunday. The school’s Pinsen Renas and Roger Rambi were adjudged the Best Scorer and the Best Player.

The tournament was held in conjunction with the 79th birthday for the Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud.

Kuching and Bintulu were third and fourth respectively.

Eight other teams – Miri, Samarahan, Sarikei, Kapit, Betong, Sri Aman, Limbang and Mukah – competed in the tournament which began on Sept 10

Meanwhile, Sri Aman clinched the Silver Cup ahead of Samarahan, Sibu and Miri.

Assistant Minister of Local Government Datuk John Sikie Tayai officiated at the prize-giving.
