SIBU: The 25-hour Pray For Malaysia Gathering at Sibu Gateway ended on Wednesday night with the message of love.

Bishop of Sibu Right Reverend Joseph Hii said the great response for the gathering was a showcase of people’s gratefulness for being Malaysian.

“We are indeed grateful to be Malaysians despite what is happening in this country,” he said.

He said the 25-hour prayer had brought healings to all Christians and the task now is to ensure that this love stays in the family, society and the world.

“As Christians, all of us must die to ourselves, we must die to our churches and to our nation, so that we can give life to others and to bring blessings to others,” he pointed out.

There was lighting of candles at the gathering and the people were encouraged to bring the light home to be a symbol that they are the light and salt of Malaysia.

Hii then led the gathering to chant ‘Malaysia God Bless You’, ‘Malaysia Jesus Heals You’ and ‘Malaysia Holy Spirit is With You’.

Meanwhile, there were performances at the closing ceremony as well.

All pastors from various churches also joined in singing Malaysia Bagi Kemuliaanmu, This Is My Father’s World, and Celebrate Jesus Celebrate.
