KUCHING: The Football Association Of Malaysia (FAM) disciplinary committee has slapped a fine of RM80,000 on Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) for the unruly behaviour of fans and other offences.

On top of this, FAS secretary-general Abdullah Julaihi said the Crocs will have to play two closed-door games or matches without spectators. FAS, however, has confirmed that they will be appealing.

“First, we will seek a priority to appeal for the amount that we have to pay and secondly, the two closed door matches to be considered,” Abdullah told at a press conference yesterday.

The fines were imposed for two Super League matches – Sarawak vs Perak on June 20, 2015 and Sarawak vs KL Felda on June 27, 2015 – and one Malaysia Cup match between Sarawak and Perak on Aug 30, 2014.

Yesterday, Abdullah again took the opportunity to urge fans to stop unruly acts such as lighting flares during matches.

“We are not the only team being penalised in the league but if we look at the amount of RM80,000 it is a lot… this is a loss and waste to our financial status,” he said.

Also present was FAS deputy president Datuk Mohd Abu Bakar Mazuki.
