KUALA LUMPUR: Terminator megastar Arnold Schwarzenegger, who immortalised the catchpharse “I’ll be back” in the sci-fi action blockbuster series, will have more to say when he speaks in Kuala Lumpur on transformation next month.

Schwarzenegger, who was also California Governor, will join other speakers including former Olympic Champion Carl Lewis at the inaugural Global Transformation Forum 2015 to be held here on Oct 21-23.

At the forum, organised by BFR Institute Sdn Bhd (BFR-I) in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), leaders of delivery units and subject matter experts will share their perspectives on operationalising transformational initiatives and programmes.

Other speakers include Sir Michael Barber, former head of Tony Blair’s Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit in the United Kingdom; Omari Issa, Chief Executive Officer of the President’s Delivery Bureau of Tanzania; and Idris Jala, Chief Executive of Performance Management and Delivery Unit (Pemandu) in the Prime Minister’s Department.

They will speak on the successes in creating positive socioeconomic impact, and challenges such as implementing multi-stakeholder initiatives and prioritisation.

Idris said in a statement yesterday that the forum is timely as the world needs a global forum where present and former heads of states, delivery unit heads, top civil servants, ministers and captains of industries can meet and exchange experiences on transformation.

“There are so many valuable insights from different countries – the good, the bad, the ugly – which can be shared and learnt from,” Idris, who is also Managing Director of BFR-I, said.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Wahid Omar are also expected to attend the forum along with former Prime Minister of Singapore Goh Chok Tong, former Prime Minister of New Zealand and Administrator of the UNDP Helen Clark, former Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Australia Kevin Rudd, Chair of the London Organising Committee of the 2012 Olympic Games Lord Sebastian Coe and Co-founder of Starbucks Zev-Siegl.

Others include Deputy Chairman of Khazanah Nasional Bhd Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop and AirAsia Group Chief Executive Officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes. — Bernama
