MIRI: A man was found dead near a car at Ocean Park, Jalan Bakam here yesterday.
The body of Wong Thuong Ung was found around 2pm by members of the public who called the police, said Miri acting police chief Supt Stanley Jonathan Ringgit.
On further investigation, police believed that Wong, whose body was floating face down in a puddle of muddy water, had been dead for less than 48 hours.
The deceased, aged 78, was believed to have tried to get his vehicle out of the mud pool before he tripped and fell.
Police ruled out foul play.
The body has been taken to Miri Hospital morgue for a post mortem.
