‘Govt must sue Aljazeera for defaming PM’

1

ALJAZEERA, an international TV network, made a very serious allegation implicating our Prime Minister Datuk Seri NajibTunRazak with the murder of Altantuya Sharibuu recently.

As a loyal Malaysian citizen, I am shocked and dumb-founded at the muted response from the Malaysian authorities on this serious matter.

The Attorney-General and the Inspector General of Police responded to the allegation by referring to the history and details of the court case in connection with the murder of Altantuya which cleared Najib of the murder. This serves of little purpose – it’s a stale story which every Malaysian knows.

The allegation by Alzajeera is a very serious matter as the news was broadcast over its networks for world audiences.

Hence, the Malaysian authorities must be seen to treat the matter seriously. The government should take legal action and sue Alzajeera for defaming, slandering and making false and unsubstantiated allegation against our Prime Minister.

This action will send a clear message that Malaysia takes serious view against false allegation and it spares no effort in protecting the dignity, credibility and integrity of the Prime Minister.
