LIMBANG: A total of 16 contingents will compete in the inaugural divisional-level Government Service Welfare and Recreational Council (Maksak) Sarawak athletics meet here from Oct 3-4.
Athletes will compete in 45 track and five field events at the Limbang Sports Complex.
The competition is aimed at promoting greater rapport among the participants.
“We hope to scout more talents during this sports meet who could represent Maksak Limbang and the state in future meets or championships,” Limbang Resident Maria Hasman said yesterday.
Bukit Kota assemblyman Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail is expected to officiate at the closing ceremony on Sunday.
