Takaful Ikhlas receives global recognition with GIFA 2015 award

KUALA LUMPUR: Takaful Ikhlas Bhd (Takaful Ikhlas), a wholly-owned subsidiary of MNRB Holdings Bhd (MNRB) received global recognition through winning the Best Takaful Operator at the recently held Global Islamic Finance Awards 2015 at Manama, Bahrain.

“We are honoured to receive this recognition. This award proves that products and services offered by Takaful Ikhlas are trully competitive, and on par with other leading and active takaful providers in Malaysia,” said Takaful Ikhlas’ president and chief executive officer, Abdul Latiff Abu

Bakar.

“For the last 13 years, Takaful Ikhlas managed to strengthen its presence in providing Islamic financial protection services based on Takaful concept which emphasized on mutual cooperation and responsibility among its members. Today, our reputation in Malaysia has been recognised as a dynamic and best-known ‘brand’,” Latiff added.

For the financial year ended March 2015, Takaful Ikhlas’ contribution rose roughly 7.3 per cent from RM769.6 million to RM826 million.

“Takaful Ikhlas is always designing various business plans so the company’s main role and responsibility to spread Islamic business transactions locally as well as globally will be well achieved,” Latiff said.

This is the fifth time GIFA has been organised by EdBiz Consulting with the support of National Bank of Kazakhstan. During the event, more than 30 individuals and institutions from various countries received awards.

According to Professor Humayon Dar, chairman and founder of GIFA, GIFA is the most prestigious Islamic financial award programme in the world and is highly regarded by political personalities and countries that are involved in Islamic finance.

Also present during the ceremony was Malaysia’s ambassador to Bahrain, Datuk Ahmad Shahizan Abdul Samad.

Takaful Ikhlas had previously won the best takaful operator award from the Global Banking and Finance Review 2015.
