SIBU: Four more 1Malaysia Clinics (K1M) are expected to be set up here and in Miri this year, adding to the current 32 across the state.

State Health Department irector Datu Dr Zulkifli Jantan said for this year, the proposed locations would be Rantau Panjang, a site near Lanang Bridge (former Shin Yang office), the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) here and UTC Miri.

On the vacated Shin Yang office near Lanang Bridge, he said it was handed over to the department on Aug 25.

“Works are now in progress to convert the office into a K1M,” he told The Borneo Post yesterday.

He said the Lanang and Rantau Panjang K1Ms would add to the current seven clinics across here, namely in Sungei Bidut, Teku, Rajang Park, Soon Hup Garden, Salim Road (Farley-Sentosa), Sibu Jaya Township and Bandong Road.

In particularly, the Bandong Road branch provides both outpatient, maternity and children’s health services.

It records an average of 1,400 to 1,500 patients per month, supervised by two medical assistants (MA).

The daily operating hours are from 9am till 9pm.
