BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: The Banjarbaru Criminal Investigation Unit Police arrested five offenders of togel (illegal lottery) online gambling in the local town, Antaranews Kalimantan reported.
“Disclosure of this case for about four days and was the results of development of information we got,” said Chief Criminal Police AKP Abdul Mufid in Banjarbaru, Tuesday.
The first offender arrested, he said, was the boss of togel gambling known with initials SW (34), a resident of Landasan Ulin.
After capturing SW, the case developed and police captured his men. They were four, namely DU (41), YB (50), BR (55), and ST (40), all residents of Landasan Ulin.
They were arrested on Monday (5/10) at around 16.00 at Jalan Kurnia, District of Runway North Ulin, Banjarbaru.
From the arrest, the police seized evidence of their criminal, ie, eight mobile phones, calculators, and money Rp1.452.000,00.
“Cases like will be continue to our development and many other actors are expected to remain in operation in the region,” said the man who had just served as Banjarbaru Criminal Police chief.
The five offenders were named as a suspect and arrested. They were charged under Article 303 of the Criminal Code, under penalty of 10 years and a fine of Rp25 million.
