SIBU: Kuching Greensport edged Bintulu Division Lawn Tennis Association (BDLTA) 2-1 to win the Sibu President Cup Tennis Championship which ended at Bukit Lima Lawn Tennis Court here last weekend.
Greensport took home RM1,000 while BDLTA picked up RM500.
Greensport’s Kelvin and Nick combined to whitewash Paujan and Aladin 6-0, 6-0 to secure the first point.
But Bintulu leveled the score when Razif partnered Carlo to overcome Gregory and Virman 6-3, 6-0.
It was left to Leslie and Gilbert to clinch victory for Greensport in the final showdown.
Third placing went to Sibu Customs Department.
Eight teams took part in the championship organised by Sibu Division Lawn Tennis Association (SDLTA).
SDLTA president Vincent Goh Chung Siong, who gave away the prizes, hoped that more teams would take part next year.
