KOTA KINABALU: Solidariti Rakyat (SORAK) will be holding a gathering billed as “Black Sunday 3.0” jointly with other local non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and the United Sabah Alliance (USA) at Gaya Street on Sunday, October 18, 2015.

According to SORAK’s spokesman, Jamain Sarudin, the Black Sunday gathering, which is the third one, is organised with the main focus on the problems of illegal immigrants in Sabah.

The three main points of focus are to demand that the Sabah RCI Technical Committee expedite with firm and drastic action on the RCI report released in December last year; to demand an absolute solution to cleanse Sabah of its illegal immigrants and reinstate Sabah’s status; and to call for the re-registration and issuance of Sabah ICs to genuine Sabahans in accordance with existing laws of the country.

According to Jamain, notice has been given in accordance with the normal requirements to the Karamunsing Police Station on Monday and the police have informed that they have no objection.

However, the organizers must obtain permission from City Hall as the authority over the proposed venue.

Jamain urged the public to give their support to the programme on Sunday, October 18, which will commence at 10 am at Gaya Street by wearing black T-shirts.

He also advised participants not to raise sensitive issues such as race, religion and issues relating to the Palace and so on.

Participants are encouraged to wear face masks in view of the current hazy weather conditions.
