KOTA KINABALU: Five people, including a woman, were detained by police for possessing 0.2 grams of ketamin or syabu at police road block along Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, here yesterday morning.

The suspects, in their 20s and 30s, were onboard a Perodua Alza car heading to Sepanggar when they were detained by police around 2.45am.

City police chief ACP M. Chandra confirmed the arrests and said the police found the crystal like substance, believed to be ketamin weighing about 0.2grams together with a modified bottle inside the vehicle.

“Police have confiscated the drugs and vehicle while the suspects have been remanded for further investigation,” he said.

The case would be investigated under Section 12 (2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, he said.
